The Mountain Stewards will host a panel discussion at the Signal Mountain Library on Thursday, April 27 at 6:30 p.m. The program will explore how to have a healthy yard that is also healthy for the environment.
Colleen Smith, a veterinarian, will describe the harmful effects of chemicals on pets and wildlife; Ann Brown, a member of Tennessee Wild Ones, will discuss pesticides that are harmful to pollinators and the dangers of a weed free lawn; and Lyn Rutherford, landscape inspector with the City of Chattanooga, will report on the water quality implications of using chemicals in our yards, gardens, golf courses, parks, and roadways.
