The Chattanooga Mocs offense couldn't find its traction as they only registered two hits during a 12-0 loss to Lipscomb in Nashville on a rainy Thursday evening.
With the loss, Chattanooga falls to 12-32 overall and will have one more non-conference game remaining. Lipscomb, the 38th ranked team in the most recent NCAA RPI, improved to 33-13 on the year.
Chattanooga heads to Austin Peay on Tuesday, April 25, for their final non-conference game of the season with a start time of 5 p.m.
ET / 4 p.m. CT.
Lipscomb scored two runs in the bottom of the first with a bases loaded, two RBI single up the middle with two outs to take an early 2-0 lead. After a 37 minute rain delay suspended the bottom of the second, the Lady Bisons came out with a nine run frame on just four hits and were helped by six Mocs walks in the inning, extending out to an 11-0 advantage.
Lipscomb would scrape across another run in the bottom of the fourth to make it 12-0.
The Mocs only recorded two hits in the game, an Aly Walker single to left field in the fourth inning and a J.J. Hamill single in the fifth. They drew five free passes, three walks and two hit by pitches, but went 0-for-13 as a team with runners on base.
Celie Hudson (3-7) took the loss in the circle by tossing 1.1 innings and allowed four hits, nine runs (all earned) while walking six and striking out one. Alex Connell provided relief with 2.2 innings while allowing four hits, three runs (all earned) while walking three.
