Joyce Louise Perkins Rice, 77, of Chickamauga, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2017.
She was born to the late Robert and Maud McCormick Ward in Oklahoma, raised in California and spent most of her life in Chickamauga. She retired in 1985 after working as a secretary for Don Oliver, Elizabeth Lee United Methodist Church and Atlanta Gas Company. Joyce was a member of Elizabeth Lee United Methodist Church and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt, who will be greatly missed.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Karyn Perkins; granddaughter, Candice Zagurski; sister, Dean Ward; and brother, Paul Ward, J.T. Ward and William Ward.
Joyce is survived by her loving husband, of 35 years, Willis “Bud” Rice; sons, Robert Ted (Barbra) Perkins and Tim (Tonya) Perkins; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 23, in the funeral home chapel. The family will receive friends from noon until the service on Sunday.
