Joe Wise
Joe Wise, 96, of Chattanooga, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2017. He was born August 19, 1921.
It is with our deepest sorrow that we inform you of the death of our beloved husband of Mary Lawson Wise, father of Edward Bryan, Donald Allen/Kay, Steven Jay/Gordon, grandfather of Jason Scott, Lauren Joelle, and great-grandfather of Addie.
He was preceded in death by his son, David Clayton, and parents, Rebecca and Jake Wise.
Joe was a man of great ethics, honor, compassion, love, and humor. He was a man who loved his family unconditionally. Joe was an avid golfer and played every day, well into his eighties. He had a remarkable 12 “holes in one”. During a discussion that we had with Daddy before he passed, he said that he guessed there wouldn't be pallbearers at his service, because he had out lived everyone. He kept his sense of humor up until the end.
Rest now, and know that you will be missed.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 27, from 12-2 p.m. at the East Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery.
