Bill “Pencil” Chapman, 81, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Thursday April 20, 2017 in a Chattanooga hospital.
He was the son of the late J.S. and Estelle Dacus Chapman; and was also preceded in death by his brothers Charles, Hudon and Richard Chapman; and his sister Rose Chapman.
Mr. Chapman was truck driver with over 65 years of service, hauling cars for various car dealers in this area. He attended First Baptist Church in Cleveland.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Martha Chapman; his sons William Chapman Jr. and Richard Chapman and his wife Olivia, both of Cleveland; his grandchildren Jackson, Nathan and Benjamin Chapman; his brother J.D. Chapman of Cleveland; his sister Vivian Cavett of Pheonix AZ; and several nieces and nephews.
A Remembrance of Life Service will be held Sunday, April 23 at 4 p.m. at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Ave. Chapel with Rev. Tom Wickes officiating. The interment will follow in the Moore’s Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the Jim Rush Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
