Fake Science Of Man-Made Beliefs - And Response (6)

  • Monday, April 24, 2017

In Chattanooga last Saturday approximately 1,000 people joined a faith-based group calling itself "March for Science - Chattanooga" who demanded that you and me pay for their special beliefs in fake science.  Their sincere, deeply held beliefs are found on their Facebook page.  And, they are not alone.  Thousands of other people of similar faith marched in various locations around the USA to demand money, money, money, from you.

The very first special belief on their Facebook page states, "The Earth is becoming warmer due to human action."  In their context, they sincerely believe humans can scientifically engineer the climate's temperature to whatever they believe it ought to be. But, their scholarship is shoddy.  Had any of the thousands who marched on Saturday bothered do a little homework first to survey America's Universities they would have learned that no institution of higher learning in America teaches Climate Engineering as an accredited science.  Thus, their first special belief in man-made climate warming is obviously fake science.

None of the marchers knew enough about science to notice or question why no Climate Engineers attended any of the marches. There is not one American Professor of Climate Engineering.  America's best and brightest students cannot earn even one single credit hour in a natural science of Climate Engineering.  What a disappointment for the marchers.  All that marching and all their repetitious chanting of ...science..., ...science..., ...science..., ...science..., ...science..., ...science..., ...science..., engineered nothing more scientific than moving hot air.

Most of us Americans strongly support fundamental Constitutional values such as freedom of speech and freedom of assembly.  We support these rights for everyone, including the "March for Science" groups even though truth in advertising demands they should be renamed, "March for Fake Science",  "March for Substituting Beliefs for Science", or, "March for Beliefs we want you to call Science".  Or, "March for Demanding You pay for our Fake $cience."

Say yes to the real science of substance, say no to the Fake $cience of man-made beliefs.

One of the biggest problems in America right now is the wave of anti-intellectualism that has been sweeping the nation for well over a decade.  It's culmination was seemingly reached last year with the election of Donald Trump as president.   This article is evidence that the phenomenon is still in full swing.

But this isn't a political article, it's a defense of science.  Science does not care what you believe, and its results cannot be argued with.  When nearly every scientist says that we have a problem with climate change and that humans' actions have increased the rate of change, we should take that seriously.  Why wouldn't we?  The intellectuals and the ignorant both have to live on the same planet, and I would presume that we all want it to be around and in good shape for years to come.

Even if you doubt climate science, it's a good idea to err on the side of caution and take it seriously.  What is the alternative?  What if you're wrong about it?  Wouldn't it be better to take it seriously in case they are right?

Climate scientists don't want your money; this assertion is beyond ridiculous.  They just want us to take climate change seriously.  The penalty for not doing so is terrible for all of us.

Yes, the earth is getting warmer. It is now averaging one degree warmer and I'm certain will cycle back down a degree or two in the years to come before returning to another degree warmer.

Sounds silly doesn't it.

News Flash. God drowned every living thing except for Noah and his family because of his faith in the one and only God.

God promised to never do that again with water and gave us a visual reminder, His rainbow.

The next time , fire will destroy the world.

Man cannot fix this.

Actually the world's biggest problem is that our world has become like Sodom and increasingly in its wickedness daily.

Anything than looking at our sins , right?

You want facts? Read God's Word. It's a documented record of historical facts.

The generations repeating itself. God's responses. Archaeological findings.

Read what was said about Jesus 1,000 years before He was born.

Is our planet ending? Absolutely. When the Author walks on stage, it's over. Too late for crying out for God's Son Jesus Christ.

R.J. in your own words "Even if you doubt climate science, it's a good idea to err on the side of caution and take it seriously.  What is the alternative?  What if you're wrong about it?  Wouldn't it be better to take it seriously in case they are right?".

Replace the devil's smoke and mirrors with Truth/Gods Word. Take it seriously because eternal fire awaits those who deny God's salvation through His Son Jesus Christ regardless if they think they are an intellectual or not.

Everyone will bow and confess Jesus as Lord. Those who do it at judgement are too late.

God's judgement is final for one's soul.

Focus on Him not this temporary world and our short time here.

Perhaps Mr. Mitchell wouldn’t be so quick to insult the intelligence of others if he considered the number of people that have blown the whistle recently on manipulated climate data, yes NOAA scientists. It may serve him well and broaden his scope if he would do some research.

He would learn about scientists, like Dr. John Bates from NOAA, who have discovered and brought to light that climate data from the Karl Study was never put through the normal rigorous testing for accuracy before it was rushed out in time to influence the U.N. Paris summit on Climate “Changes”. I use the word changes, because prior to global warming, their term was global cooling. When the earth went through what many consider normal cycling, and the cooling changed to warming, they had to go to a term that could represent both cycles (climate change). Many scientist dispute any warming over the last decade.

Mr. Mitchell states that you can’t dispute science. And its results cannot be argued with. I’m not so sure that he considered the interpretation process. There are many other scientist that say the opposite. He just chooses to “argue” with them.

I agree with Mr. Mitchell that no matter where you come down on the discussion of how much human activity affects the changes in our climate, we should all be good stewards toward the earth. We should do our part to leave this planet better than we found it. I even agree that we should err on the side of caution as Mr. Mitchell states, I’m just not convinced that all the people that are working in this field currently, and getting paid by the many federal grants available for such, are not working in their best interest.

In the early 80’s the scientists stated that the earth was entering a “New Ice Age”. Now we are to get really get uptight about climate change that mankind is causing. This is to address Mr. Mitchell's comment: “Climate scientists don't want your money; this assertion is beyond ridiculous.  They just want us to take climate change seriously.  The penalty for not doing so is terrible for all of us.”

Sir, some people have become millionaires due to promoting Climate Change for example Al Gore. I see no problem in recycling, but give me a break. There are scientists that have come out of the group that promoted Climate Change to state that the data was shrew to support their theory which makes their conclusions faulty.

If the climate is changing it may very well be that God is showing the people of the Earth, things that were predicted a long time ago in the precious Holy Bible. It appears that some people are worshiping Planet Earth: a faith-based group calling itself "March for Science - Chattanooga" instead of God.

A friend of mine, the man who summoned me to become a mariner out of college, told me if you don't believe climate change you need to see the North Slope of Alaska. He's worked out of Prudhoe Bay for the last 10 or so years on a tugboat. They run to North Star, a BP rig about seven miles north of the town of Prudhoe Bay. Prudhoe Bay is on the north coast of Alaska about 150 miles west of the Canada border.

Last September for the first time he had seen, the sea ice was gone, so he had to deal with 40 knot winds, as usual, with no pack ice to keep the chop at a minimum.  Ice was 60 miles or so north so he worked in open water. A photo he sent me a few years back of the tug being hauled out for the winter shows her windward side coated with ice, ice from salt water freezing. That was Oct. 14 that year.

One of his regular summer deeds is to take  local native men on subsistence whale hunts. He showed me photos years ago of what seemed to be the ruins of a cabin on a gravel bar. Explanation was it was skeletal remains of a right whale. Native hunts now take just minke whales. The issue with these hunts is the gravel bars are losing to sea level rise. The ground is vanishing.

Last but not least, I worked Gulf of Mexico oil fields for Pemex in the early 1980's. Abkatun, Akal and Nohoch fields all flared their gas because there was no way to recover it. You can still see the flares today in space imagery burning away. We could see some from the coast because they burned so bright and so high. It was 45 miles distance. Today there's many more flares as the fields have grown. Back then the flare piping was 18" diameter, sized to carry the pressure and volume of flow. Taking a boat under the flare or securing near meant salt spray was baked on the hull. It also meant the deck hand would have to get out diesel fuel to clean the spots of crude oil off the cabin top. That all this has a long term affect was a no brainer.

These are some of the realities I reference when I see folks express that human activity has no effect on our planet. The drag of it is our species may be the most able to express our intelligence in communication, but we tend to act on our most base instincts when confronted by the planet on how we affect it. Like the bumper sticker says in baseball terminology, Nature Bats Last.

Mr. Mitchell, everyone who disagrees with your position on the science march and science is anti-intellectual?  Really?  The march’s mouth piece and pseudo-scientist Bill Nye wants to jail climate change dissenters, comparing them to Enron executives, for daring to question the data. Your rhetoric reveals you have little or no understanding of the scientific process.  In reality critical examination of a scientist's theory is welcomed because it reveals both the strengths and weaknesses of the theory.

Climate science is definitely broken; so much so it’s more associated with political and ideological agendas than science. I place no trust in people who use fraudulently change data to predict climate problems that never materialize.  They’re not after our money?  Better check on the billions in the “Federal Climate Change Expenditures Report to Congress, August 2013”.  In 2014 proposed spending by all federal agencies was $11.5 billion; all expenditures plus Tax Provisions is $21.4 billion. Did you know Al Gore’s group Energy Transitions Commission (ETC) is demanding $15 trillion to fight climate change? I doubt it.  Don’t pretend for a millisecond they’re not after the money.
