Hip-Hop CHA, a local collective of hip-hop enthusiasts, hosted a competition for hip-hop artists in the Chattanooga area last week. The final round took place on Saturday at the Revelry Room where Kay B Brown was awarded the grand prize.
The first round of the competition took place at Hush Lounge on Monday. Artists submitted one track that played at the New Music Monday event. The public voted to narrow the contest down to seven artists who performed live on Saturday night. Local artist Kay B Brown was voted the grand prize winner at the final round of the showcase.
Kay B Brown will now have the opportunity to headline one of the Hip-Hop Lounge events at the Revelry Room this year.
He also receives a free spot in the SoundCorps Craft Masters Course, and will have the opportunity to open for one of the Levitt Amp Concert Series events at the Bessie Smith Cultural Center lawn this summer.
