In recognition of a company sales record in 2016, Astec Industries, Inc. has donated $50,000 to the Buz Standefer Lung Center at CHI Memorial.  The donation is made in honor of all the Astec Industries, Inc. employees around the globe and in memory of the company’s founder, J. Don Brock, who passed away in 2015 from mesothelioma, a form of lung cancer.

“This center is doing cutting edge research and treatment of pulmonary diseases that will benefit people not only in Chattanooga, but also people around the world,” said Ben Brock, president and CEO, Astec Industries, Inc.  “This donation is the perfect way to recognize and celebrate our company’s accomplishment.  This donation for Buz Standefer Lung Center at CHI Memorial will have a lasting impact in helping find cures for lung diseases and improving treatment options for patients throughout the world.”

“We appreciate Astec’s recognition of the incredible work our physicians and staff at Buz Standefer Lung Center do every day,” said Jennifer Nicely, president, CHI Memorial Foundation.  “This generous donation will help ensure we can continue to provide top quality care and treatment, and provide a direct impact for those in our community with lung disease.”

The Buz Standefer Lung Center at CHI Memorial is this region’s best and only comprehensive lung center, offering the most advanced detection capabilities, interventional procedures and surgical treatments for lung-related diseases.
