“With all of the momentum on Cherry Street, Picnic in the Passageways aims to create a sense of community on the 700 block of Cherry Street,” said Meagan Shinn, program manager at River City Company. “We’re excited to continue providing opportunities for the downtown workforce to engage with the Passageways’ installations.”
Picnic in the Passageways is free, family-friendly, and open to the public. In addition to the food, music, and interactive art projects, seating will be available in both the Grass Garden Inversion alley at 730 Cherry St. and at the Urban Chandelier alley at 709 Cherry St. Picnic in the Passageways is a River City Company program and made possible by sponsors Lamp Post Properties, PV Design, Fidelity Trust Company, and Super Chief.
“Between the alleyway installations, the new businesses popping up on Cherry Street and this area’s historical significance to the Chattanooga business community, we are excited to help sponsor the Picnic in the Passageways events and bring even more people to this block of City Center in the Innovation District,” said Matt McGauley, president of Fidelity Trust Company.
