Charlie "Elbert" Cleghorn, 95, of Villanow, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2017 at his residence.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Reita Tarvin Cleghorn; son, Thomas Cleghorn; and granddaughter, Renice Ann Cleghorn.
He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and was a Veteran of the US Army Air Corp. He was the owner and co-founder of Luau Pools.
He is survived by two sisters, Annie Mae Sanders of Hixon, TN and Marie Lasley of Soddy Daisy, TN; daughter-in-law, Murleene Cleghorn of Lafayette; grandchildren, Dean and Jill Cleghorn and Don and Josie Cleghorn, all of Lafayette; great-grandchildren, Aimee, Asa, Maddie and Hartley Cleghorn; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Monday, May 1, at 3 p.m. at the Rocky Face Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Clifford Chambers officiating. Burial will be in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Villanow.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1-3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the great-grandchildren's further education fund, c/o Julian Peeples Funeral Home.
