Gifford, Bobby Joe (Trenton)

Bobby Joe Gifford, 80, of Trenton, Georgia and formerly of Port St. Lucie, Florida, passed away from complications of a lengthy illness, on Thursday, April 27, 2017.

He was a 1955 graduate of Dade County High School where he was very active in sports and music. He was retired form the State of Florida (Management Services). While employed in his management role, he traveled the United Stated extensively. Mr. Gifford was a skilled mechanic and loved the outdoors, especially fishing. He appreciated automobiles, especially trucks and owned and took care of several in his lifetime. He was of the Baptist faith. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Buck and Opal Gifford; and sister Peggy Fulk of Trenton, GA. 

Survivors include his son Timothy Paul (Paula) Gifford of Spring Hill, TN; daughter Julie Gifford (Matt) Corbin; granddaughter Jaclyn of Nashville, TN; sister Carlene (Ted) Camp of Trenton, GA; sister Laura (Johnny) Ellison of Flat Rock, AL; one niece; five nephews; and many cousins. 

A Memorial Service for family and friends is scheduled for Saturday, May 13, at 3 p.m. in the Merrill Chapel at Silent Word Ministries, 6250 Hwy 136 East, Trenton, GA.
