James Curtis Stoker, 88, of Menlo, Georgia, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2017, at his residence.
Mr. Stoker was born Jan. 26, 1929, in Cloudland, Ga., the son of the late George and Annie Moses Stoker. He was retired from Riegal Textile, a veteran of the Korean War, where he received the purple heart, and many other medals, was a member of the Riegal Quarter Century Club.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Claude Stoker, and Infant Baby Stoker, who died at birth.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Monnie J. Stoker, daughters and son-in-law, Joyce White, Vicki and Randy Bagley, sister, Thelma Lowery, grandchildren, Suzanne Willis, Michael and Betty White, Clifton and Maghan Bagley, great-grandchildren, Joshua White, Layla Sims, Peyton Bagley, Tony Floyd, Jordan Floyd.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 30, at the Mason Funeral Home, with Reverend Robert Patterson and Reverend Tom Russell officiating with interment in the West Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Randy Stoker, Sammy Lee, Michael White, Clifton Bagley, Leonard Robinson, Jerry (Homebrew) Deering, David Adams, and Roy Brown, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Wofford, Joshua White, Edward Lee, James Lee.
Mr. Stoker will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends on Sunday, from 6-8 p.m.
