Arth, Mocs Kick Off Spring Game, Events On Saturday

  • Thursday, April 6, 2017
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football team holds its annual Spring Game presented by MetroPCS on Saturday, April 8.  This is a FREE event open to all Mocs fans and kicks-off at 12:00 p.m. (E.D.T.) at Finley Stadium.

Head coach Tom Arth and his staff are continuing the FREE Kids Clinic for the ninth year.  Preregistration begins at 9:00 a.m. at the field entrance by the home locker room.  All youth, eighth grade and under, are invited to attend the clinic put on by the Mocs football players and coaches.
Parents can pre-register participants by clicking here before 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

The second annual Mocs Football Wing Cook-Off is also back.  Anyone with a grill and some wings can put their culinary skills on the line for a celebrity judging panel that includes Mayor Andy Berke, Mayor Jim Coppinger, Jay Greeson from the Times Free Press and ESPN Radio 105.1 FM, Cowboy Joe Varner from SportTalk 102.3 FM and a representative from UTC's Student Government Association.

The top three wings, according to our judges, take home cash prizes, beginning with $250 for first place. $150 for second, and $100 for third.  You must preregister for the Wing Cook-Off by clicking here and filling out the form prior to 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Set up for the Wing Cook-Off begins as early as 7:00 a.m. on 19th street on the south side of the Stadium.  The street is closed for the day for the wing contest and anyone who wants to tailgate.  There will be a D.J. on site providing music during the cook-off.  Winners are announced inside the stadium during the Spring Game.

The football team takes the field at Noon for a scripted practice, with the last 40+ minutes including a scrimmage.  The Mocs T-shirt gun will also be firing free swag into the crowd throughout the afternoon.

Throughout the day, fans have a chance to pick any open seats in the reserved area for the 2016 season.  Representatives from the UTC Mocs Club will be on hand to answer any questions about supporting your Mocs for the 2016 season.

The afternoon concludes with an autograph session with coaches and players on the field.
