Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel, P.C. brought on two attorneys, Peter Harrison and Cameron Kapperman, to expand its rapidly growing estate planning and tax practice. Both attorneys practice in the estate planning area. Mr. Harrison puts extra effort toward counseling clients in elder law and special needs planning, while the majority of Mr. Kapperman's work is in estate administration.
Mr. Harrison returned to the South and relocated to Chattanooga last fall after building his estate planning practice for several years in Connecticut. He assists Chambliss clients with wills, powers of attorney, trusts, gift taxes, estate taxes, retirement benefits planning, special needs planning and qualifying for governmental medical benefits like Medicaid, Social Security Disability and Supplemental Security Income. Mr. Harrison is licensed in Alabama, Connecticut, Georgia and Tennessee; he holds an L.L.M. in taxation from Georgetown University Law Center where he also received his Certificate in Estate Planning. Mr. Harrison graduated from Mercer University Walter F. George School of Law and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the University of the South. He currently serves on the board for the Chattanooga Estate Planning Council and regularly presents at events and radio shows.
Mr. Kapperman works with Chambliss clients to draft estate planning documents and assist in the administration of estates. He is a Chattanooga native who returned to join Chambliss after graduating from The University of Tennessee College of Law in 2016. He previously graduated from Berry College and Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences. During law school, Mr. Kapperman was published for his commentary on wills and estates for The Tennessee Journal of Business Law, and he was awarded for the areas of advanced appellate advocacy, advanced trial practice, advanced legal research, civil pretrial litigation, immigration law, civil procedure and legal process. He has been admitted to practice in Tennessee and the Tennessee Supreme Court.
