All four No.1 seeds claimed championships Tuesday in the 6 A-AA District singles and doubles tournament at the Brainerd Tennis Complex.

Singles winners were Daniel Cox (Red Bank) in the boys and Madi Blackburn (Chattanooga Central) in the girls tourney.

Doubles champions were Karmin Nevels-Alysanne Vuong of Hixson for the girls and Gary Paradis-Austin Camp for the boys.

Brothers Battle: The boys final had Gary Paradis edge his brother Caleb Paradis in the doubles final … both Lions doubles teams advance to next week’s region tourney and could meet again for a spot in the state tourney. to the winner.

Smart Lion Twns: Red Bank senior and valedictorian Daniel Cox won his first district singles title Tuesday …. Smart twins … he has a 4.0 GPA, while his older twin sister (by two minutes), Elise,  has a 3.28 … they turn 18 July 30.

Thursday Team Region:  Girls … Hixson meets Silverdale at Chattanooga State … Boys … Collegedale hosts Red Bank at 4 p.m.
