Margie Thompson
Margie K. Thompson, 87, of South Pittsburg, Tennessee, died on May 13, 2017, in a Chattanooga health care facility.
The daughter of the late Robert Mancel and Frankie Mae Knight, she was a lifelong resident of South Pittsburg and a member of Holly Avenue United Methodist Church. Margie was a 50 year member and Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, a former Mother Advisor to the Rainbow Girls, and a member of the South Pittsburg Garden Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Jo Knight Huckabee and Eva Jean Knight Holmes, and brother, Robert P. Knight.
Survivors include her husband, John F. Thompson of South Pittsburg; daughter, Brenda (Steve) Nelms of South Pittsburg; son, Johnny (Rhonda) Thompson of Chattanooga; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Central time on Tuesday, May 16, at the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home with Reverend Joe Moore officiating. Entombment will be at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 16, from 10 a.m. until service time.
