Joseph Minor
Joseph James “Roy” Minor, 80, of Chattanooga, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 13, 2017.
He had lived in the North Georgia area for most of his life and was a member of Delray Baptist Church. Roy was an Air Force veteran having served during the Korean Conflict, a member of American Legion Post #2000 and retired from Chattanooga Pattern & Foundry in 2015 after more than 40 years of service. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be truly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Polly Womack Minor and two brothers, Albert MacArthur and Fred Minor.
Survivors include his children, James Minor of Chattanooga, Ricky Samples of Rossville, Darlene Simmons of Lookout Mountain, and Joe Samples of Flintstone; brother, David Minor of Las Vegas; two sisters, Louise Davis and Martha Minor, both of Chattanooga; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17, at Lakewood South Memory Gardens.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
