A new gift shop has opened in downtown Chattanooga in Miller Plaza at the corner of Market Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard in the space formerly housed by Southern Sqweeze.
Locals Only Gifts carries only items from Chattanooga area makers, artists, and brands. “Locals Only is a fantastic addition to Miller Plaza,” said Amy Donahue, director of Marketing and Communication for River City Company. “Miller Plaza is an integral part of the core of Downtown Chattanooga and having a shop that features locally made products is a great fit. There is a lot to discover in Locals Only, and we hope the Downtown Chattanooga workforce, residents and tourists take full advantage of its locale.”
Locals Only Gifts has been in business for a year and a half operating an online gift box store with only local Chattanooga area products. “Over the past year, business really picked up,” said Danielle Landrum, owner of Locals Only Gifts. “We began with a few social media posts and within a few months we picked up several corporate clients as well as individuals who loved the idea of giving a bit of Chattanooga to their family and friends. The next natural step for us was to open a store front so that people could stop in to pick up gift boxes or single local items.”
Several well-known Chattanooga products can be found in Locals Only Gifts including Hoff Sauce, Alchemy Spice and Good Fortune Soap products, but there are also plenty of smaller local artisans featured as well. “I have been looking for a local business to sell my photography. Locals Only Gifts is the perfect fit for me. I love all that they do,” said Shelley L. King, Jr. of Eskay Jr. Photography.
Locals Only Gifts is open Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
