Basecamp, 346 Frazier Ave., is a new restaurant on the Northshore that will specialize in Southern comfort food and craft beer. Hours will be 11 a.m.-midnight on weekdays and it will stay open until 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
The Pub on Frazier was formerly in that location.
Barley, at 235 M.L.K., will be divided into a package store selling to-go beer in growlers, a tasting room for on-premise beer, which has 64 taps of all craft beer, and another 1,000 square feet for event rentals.
Jack Brown’s Beer & Burger Joint, 818 Georgia Ave., will be the 10th location for a small chain of restaurants.
Some other locations are in Birmingham and Nashville. Specialty burgers and craft beer from eight taps will be available. Hours are 11 a.m.–2 a.m. seven days a week.
Sip, 14 W. Kent St., behind the Big Chill, is a new American Cuisine restaurant run by owners of the Southside Social. The capacity is around 80 including seating inside and on two porches.
Sweet Melissa’s Billiards,1966 Northpoint Blvd., will offer pool and darts and a seating area with a TV for people who only want to dine, said owner Melissa Smith. Smoking is permitted, which means no person under 18 is allowed inside. Hours are from 2 p.m.-3 a.m. weekdays, from noon until 3 p.m. on Saturday and noon until midnight on Sundays.
