2 Marines Killed In Chattanooga Shooting To Receive Navy And Marine Corps Medal

The Navy and Marine Corps Medal will be posthumously awarded to Gunnery Sgt. Thomas Sullivan and Staff Sgt. David Wyatt in a ceremony on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Ross's Landing Riverside Park, 201 Riverfront Pkwy.  The medals are being presented for the Marines' actions during the armed attacked at the Naval Reserve Center Chattanooga on July 16, 2015. 

Major Christopher Cotton, Inspector-Instructor of Battery M, 3rd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment at the time of the attack, will present the medals to Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Sullivan on behalf of their son, and to Mrs. Lorri Wyatt on behalf of her husband. 

Gunnery Sgt. Sullivan and Staff Sgt. Wyatt, along with Sgt. Carson Holmquist, Lance Cpl. Skip Wells and Petty Officer 2nd Class Randall Smith were killed by the attacker.
