Theodore Edward Varner, 86, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2017.

Born on March, 31, 1931, to the late Tom and Nora Varner, Theodore graduated from Kirkman Technical, and worked as a machinist for Combustion Engineering for 32 years. Theodore served in the United States Army and was a decorated veteran of the Korean War.

Theodore is survived by his wife of 62 years, Wilma Ruth Chandler Varner; children, Kyle (Carolyn) Varner and Jill (Doug) Elliott; grandchildren, Ashley Varner, Jennifer (Wade) Simpson, Josh (Bethany) Scott and Jessica Scott; great-grandchildren, Kyla Tallent and Bryson Scott; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 21, from 2-6 p.m. at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace, and on Monday, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Funeral services for Theodore will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Fred Steelman officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park.
