Antonio Scores Before Storms Damper CFC Opener

  • Saturday, May 20, 2017

The Chattanooga FC men's soccer team's home opener didn't last long Saturday night as storms moved into the area forcing players off the field and fans out of the stands due to lightning.  Team officials eventually called the match off with CFC leading 1-0.

CFC newcomer Felipe Antonio scored the goal in the 11 minute.

The visiting Birmingham Hammers will return home but both teams expect to play this game out as game officials said it will be made up.

The men play at Memphis on Wednesday before hosting Chivas U23 on Saturday May 27.
