The Nashville Predators won Tuesday night’s game at Bridgestone Arena against the St. Louis Blues, with a final score of 2-1. The Predators now lead 3-1 in the Round Two series of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
So far the Preds are undefeated at home during the playoffs.

Although Tuesday’s game remained scoreless throughout the first two periods it certainly wasn’t a dull performance to watch. Nashville’s goalie and crowd favorite Pekka Rinne made numerous saves which brought the fans to their feet in excitement.

Finally in the third period Defensemen Ryan Ellis came in with his fourth goal of the playoffs and put the Predators on the board with one point, taking advantage of a power play opportunity. James Neal followed suit less than ten minutes later shooting a quick wrister past Blues goalie Jake Allen.

St. Louis replied with a goal of their own late in the third but failed to tie it up and take the game into overtime.

Ellis said afterwards, “It was the hardest game this series. I thought they played well at both ends of the ice. I thought we played well, too. It was deadlocked at zeros for most of the game. We just got a couple of bounces. They played a terrific game and I thought we played well.”

The Predators now only need one more win against the Blues in this best-of-seven series to advance to the Western Conference final, which would make franchise history for Nashville. They face off for Game 5 in St. Louis on Friday.
