Here are the special event street closures for June 12-18 for Chattanooga:

Monday, June 12
Bessie Smith Strut: East Martin Luther King Boulevard (and surrounding streets) will be closed between Georgia Avenue and Magnolia Street from 1-11:45 p.m. on Monday for this staple Chattanooga event. Come listen to great music and enjoy some of the best food and drinks Chattanooga has to offer. Visit http://www.bessiesmithcc.org/event/bessie-smith-strut/ for more information.

Tuesday, June 13
Riverbend 2017: The extended closure for Riverbend continues this week and includes Riverfront Parkway closed from Aquarium Way to Molly Lane, the closure of the southbound off-ramp from Veterans Bridge to Riverfront Parkway, Power Alley from Aquarium to Riverfront Parkway, and Chestnut Street from Aquarium Way to Riverfront Parkway are also closed. This closure will continue through Monday, June 19, at 3:30 p.m.

Riverbend Event nights: From 3 p.m. until midnight on event nights from June 13-17, Riverside Drive's closure will extend from Lindsay Street to Molly Lane.  Also, Aquarium Way from Walnut Street to Riverside Drive, Lookout Street from E 3rd Street to Riverside Drive, and Walnut Street from Aquarium Way to the walking bridge will be closed.

After the festival concludes each night, CPD will limit traffic crossing or turning left to 4th Street from 11 p.m. until midnight between Chestnut Street and Georgia Avenue, with the exception of Market Street.  All southbound traffic will have to turn right to US 27 and all northbound traffic will have to turn right to access Veterans Bridge.

To avoid congestion when departing the main festival site, motorists parking north of 4th Street should plan on taking a right on 4th Street when leaving to access US 27 South. Motorists parking south of 4th Street should plan on accessing US 27 at the MLK Boulevard exit to avoid long delays when exiting downtown Chattanooga.

Saturday, June 17
Riverbend Run & Walk: In addition to the existing Riverbend closures, the right, eastbound lane of Frazier Avenue will be coned off between Walnut Street Bridge and Veteran's Bridge. Also, the right, westbound lane of Amnicola Highway/Riverside Drive will be coned off to runners from Lindsay Street to just past the Boathouse Restaurant. Closures will be from 5:30-11 a.m.

The 5k and 10k races offer cash awards for the top three overall male and female winners and custom awards for the top three finishers in each age/gender category. The 1-mile run/walk provides a non-competitive opportunity for individuals and families to run, walk and stroll for fun! All routes have been updated and the race starts and finishes in the heart of the Riverbend Festival site. Enjoy post-race festivities, special VIP Riverbend prizes and the awards ceremonies at the Bud Light Stage. For more information and to register online visit www.RaceCTC.org
