Summer camp takes a high tech twist at the Volkswagen Academy as applications are now being accepted for the third annual Volkswagen Summer Camp being held July 17-21.

Volkswagen Summer Camp is offered free or charge and is designed to give 14- to 18-year-old students a dynamic, hands-on introduction to the Automation and Car Mechatronics programs taught at the Volkswagen Academy.

“The Volkswagen Academy is an exciting hub of automotive learning and exploration,” said Nicole Koesling, senior vice president of Human Resources, Volkswagen Chattanooga. “We’re thrilled to offer high-school-aged students the opportunity to get hands on with all different aspects of the field of mechatronics through our Volkswagen Summer Camp.”

Attendees will choose an area to explore during the five-day camp. They can choose from the following areas of emphasis; AutoCAD, Explore a Passat, Robotics, 3D-Printing/CNC-Machining, Robotic Pneumatics or Lean manufacturing/Build a Car.

Volkswagen Chattanooga partners with Chattanooga State Community College for class instruction and implementation of the Volkswagen Summer Camp.

Applications will be accepted until June 30. Space is limited and candidates will be selected from the pool of applicants on a first-come-first-served basis. For more information, please email Volkswagen.academy@vw.com.
