Stanley Fortenberry, 55, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga.

Stanley was born Oct. 11, 1961 in Pikeville, Tn. He was preceded in death by his father, T.N. Fortenberry; and mother, Ruby Smith Gauger.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Millie Fortenberry of the residence; daughters and son-in-law, Melanie Gibson of Dalton, Tabitha and Ryan Newton of Chatsworth, Tara Fortenberry, Genie Silvers of Dalton, Nichole Manis of Chatsworth; step brother, David Gauger of Soddy Daisy; and grandchildren, Jada Gibson, Lexi Gibson, Kaitlyn Newton, Bailey Dennison, Logan Newton, and Bryleigh Locke.

Service to celebrate the life of Stanley Fortenberry will be held Tuesday, June 27, at 2 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Sonny Rhinehart and Reverend Steve Rhinehart officiating.

Interment will follow in the Ponders Murray Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. on Monday.
