Lucille Parker
Lucille "Lucy" Bryant Parker, 94, died on June 25th, 2017.
She was a graduate of Grundy County High School where she was a member of the cheerleading squad. She was a faithful member of White Oak Baptist Church for more than 75 years. Her first opportunity was working for the US. Civil Service in San Diego. She then worked for AT&T where she met her husband Calvin. Retirement was from the Sears Company after many years with them.
Her extraordinary skills included cooking, sewing, cake decorating, and a love of painting and creating pieces of ceramic. Love for her family was her most noted skill.
Lucy was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Parker and granddaughter, Kimbrily Young Papadimitriou. She will also meet in heaven, one sister and five brothers.
She is survived by two daughters, Judy (Mack) Young and Joy (Jere) Ingram, two sisters, Beatrice Lovinggood, and Una May Hearn; grandson-in-law, George Papadimitriou; grandsons, Mack Young Jr. and Matthew Ingram; great-grandchildren, Madison Young and Apollo Papadimitriou, and several beloved nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to White Oak Baptist Church, Hospice Care of Chattanooga or a charity of choice.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 29, at Lane Funeral Home, 601 Ashland Terrace Chattanooga from 12-2 p.m. with graveside services at 2:30 p.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Reverend David Burkhart officiating.
