Bryant, Iona James

Iona James Bryant, 92, of Hixson, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 26, 2017, in a local health care facility. 

A native of Ft. Payne, Al., Mrs. Bryant was born the daughter of the late John and Roxie James. 

She was a 50-year member of Lupton Drive Baptist Church. Mrs. Bryant enjoyed a longtime career at the Piccadilly Cafeteria at Northgate Mall. 

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Rueben Daniel Bryant and a son, Danny Ray Bryant. 

Survivors include her son, Stanley Wayne (Debbie) Bryant; brother, Ray James; grandsons, Casey Wayne (Sarah) Bryant and Carey Blake (Brittany) Bryant. 

A funeral service will be conducted at noon on Wednesday, June 28, at Lupton Drive Baptist Church with Reverend Roger DeHart officiating.

Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery. 

Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 27, from 6-8 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Home and on Wednesday, June 28, from 11 a.m. until noon at Lupton Drive Baptist Church.
