Ruth Pierce
Ruth Samples Pierce, 90, of Cleveland, passed away Saturday evening, June 24, 2017, at her daughter’s home.
For many years she was a sales representative for Stanley Home products. She was a member of Union Grove church of Christ for over 65 years. Ruth loved to take her friends to Florida.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Pierce, who passed away in 1958; parents, Creed Bates Samples and Pearl Jones Samples; and grandson, Bryan Gee.
Survivors include her children, Jackie Gee and husband, J.W. and Tommy Pierce and wife, Hilda, all of Cleveland; grandchildren, Toby (Steve) Hall, Jimmy (Trina) Gee, Beth (Chris) Akin, Maggie (Glen) Elmore, Charla (Greg) Filter, Vince Pierce, Brittany (Jason) Overstreet and Heather (Heath) Lawson; 20 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; sister, Edith Samples Kincaid of Cleveland; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph (Mimi) Samples of Brentwood; and several nieces and nephews.
The service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 30, in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with Minister Jimmy Gee and Minister Steve Hall officiating. Interment will follow in Union Grove Church of Christ Cemetery with Chris Akin, Jim Randolph, Steven Akin, Garret Akin, Steve Hall, Vince Pierce and Todd Gee serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Brahm Watson, David Gee, Stuart Gee, Elijah Gee, Scott Moore and Jeremy Randolph.
Her family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
