Chattanooga State’s Continuing Education Department has scheduled a one-day class to teach the basics of drone flight utilizing provided equipment on Saturday, July 8, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
The instructor will review the basics needed for operation of drones that may be utilized following completion of the course.
Topics covered will include a list of the essentials for safe and entertaining drone flight. This hands-on training will be combined with classroom instruction to practice the topics reviewed and retain practical knowledge.
Topics covered will include Pre-Flight Checklist, Safety, Emergency Procedures, Basic Weather Principles, Privacy, Battery and Aircraft Technology, Controller/Aircraft Settings, Basic Flying, Flight Modes, Waypoints, FAA/Airspace Regulations, Basic Flight Maneuvers, and Recreational vs. Commercial Flight.
The instructor for this course is Cole Hood of Falcon Aerial Engineering and Inspections. Cost of the class is $179 and instruction drones will be furnished for the class.
