Roland Sanders, 87, passed away on June 27, 2017 in Chattanooga.
He was born September 22, 1930 in Madison, Alabama to Eddie and Mary Sanders. He served in the U.S. Army. He retired from U.S. Pipe Foundry, after 40 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his devoted wife Deloise Trammell Sanders, two sisters, Ethel Horton, Emma Jean Johnson; grandsons, Michael Leech Sanders and Warren Xavier Sales.
Survivors include devoted companion Grace Suddeth, his children Roland Edward Sanders, Dorothy Elaine Harris, James (Gail) Sanders, Yvonne (Donald) Sanders, Michael (Maxine) Sanders, Terry Sales, Glenda (Lewis) Nesbit, Angela (Quintel) Thurman; 28 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, loving niece, and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Thursday, July 6, 2017, at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The body will lie in state after noon on Wednesday, July 5, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
