A big comeback win by Lookout Mountain and a shutout victory by Signal Mountain American highlighted Day 2 of the Dixie Youth Baseball District 6 tourney at Lookout Mountain's Nick F. Senter Field

Game 1: Lookout Mtn 18, Signal Mountain National 17

A Davis Garrett game-winning RBI single capped a wild comeback win by the hosts in an elimination game.

Signal Mtn jumped out to an 11-0 lead after the top half of the first and extended the lead to 15-2 in the second before Lookout Mtn started it's comeback.

While the LM defense and solid pitching  kept SM scoreless for the next three innings, the offense put up 4-2-7-1 runs in the second through fifth innings to lead 16-15.

Yet Signal Mtn was not done and scored twice in the top of the 6th for a 17-16 lead. In the LM half of  the 6th, Elias Huffine opened the inning with a triple and continued home on a throwing error to tie the game at 16.Halen Chaney then singled and later moved to third base

On a 2-out, 2 strike count, Garrett singled to left scoring Chaney with the winning run  to set off the celebration as LM will face Red Bank tonight with the winner qualifying for the state tourney.

Red Bank defeated LM, 15-12 on Tuesday in an opening tourney game.

Batting Highlights: LM - WP- Houston Price, 4 IP, allowed 2 hits and 2 runs and struck.out four; Davis Garrett 3-4, 3 RBIs, 2 runs scored, Halen Chaney 3-3, 4 runs, 1 RBI; Whit Lifsey 2 hits

Game 2: Signal Mtn American 15, Red Bank 0:In a battle of the unbeatens,SM (2-0) scored early and often to defeat Red Bank (1-1),15-0. Signal Mtn has now qualified for the state tourney which begins July 13

SM Highlights- WP, Duncan Smith 2.2 IP 6 strikeouts... Hugh Witherspoon 3-3, 2 RBIs; Harris Rittenberry, 2-3, 3 RBIs; Sara Hill, triple, RBI

7:30 p.m. - LM-RB winner vs. Signal Mtn American(2-0)

If LM-RB winner defeats SM, a final game will be played Friday

Both teams will advance to state tourney
