Roddy Inducted Into The African-American Achievers Hall Of Fame

  • Thursday, June 29, 2017

Howard W. Roddy, vice president of healthy communities at CHI Memorial, was inducted into the African-American Achievers Hall of Fame by Deltas Serving Together, Inc., an independent 501(c)(3) foundation established to support local educational and community empowerment projects.

The 2017 Achievers Hall of Fame celebration is a service project to honor retired and current outstanding community achievers and to provide scholarship assistance for educational and medical majors.  The goal is to encourage African American students to become teachers, principals, counselors, superintendents, nurses, doctors, dentists, psychiatrists, physical therapists, and more.

Mr. Roddy joined CHI Memorial in July 1998 after serving for 17 years as the director of the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Health Department.

"Throughout his career, Howard has been devoted to opening doors for diverse populations by providing greater access to health care, work opportunities and education," officials said.
