The next home bout of the Chattanooga Roller Girls, Summer Slam’Her, will be held at the Chattanooga Convention Center this Saturday. The doors open at 6 p.m. and the Chattanooga Allstars will take on the Tragic City Rollers at 7 p.m.
As CRG is a not-for-profit, every bout benefits a local charity. This bout benefits Orange Grove Center, whose doors have been open to the community since 1953.
OGC is a private non-profit organization serving adults and children with intellectual disabilities. The agency was started by a group of Chattanooga parents and community leaders who were seeking services for disabled children within the county. Today, OGC offers a myriad of services to nearly 700 children and adults, lending them a guiding hand as they pursue their goals and dreams for the future.
CRG and OGC share a special relationship as several OGC clients are cheerleaders for CRG, and Orange Grove also serves as the practice space for the Roller Girls.
There will be an audience-involved half time show with prizes provided by CRG’s Official Halftime Show Sponsor Infinity Flux.
Get tickets from derby folk or online up to the night before the bout. Presale tickets are $10, or $12 at the door. Military with ID is $8, kids aged six-12 are $5, and kids five and under are free. Tickets can also be purchased from any of the local sponsors, including Four Bridges Outfitters, Infinity Flux, Neidlov's Breadworks, Swann Chiropractic, or Main Line Ink. This is a family-friendly event where concessions (including adult beverages) are available for purchase.
