  • Wednesday, July 19, 2017

The 71st annual East Brainerd Kiwanis BBQ will be held Friday and Saturday, July 28-29, from 11 a.m.-7 p.m.

The BBQ will be held at the Baptists Children's Home at 6623 Lee Hwy.

Tickets are $10 and are good for one meal, take out plate or package of meat.

All proceeds go to the children's groups the club works with and the club normally raises at least $20,000 each year and with the other fundraiser the club usually raises 35,000 yearly.  The club has raised over $1.5 million thru the years to give back to the community.

Organizations that benefited from past proceeds include Bethel Bible Village, Chambliss Center for Children, Boy Scouts of America, Therapeutic Riding of Hixson, Community Reconciliation, Child Advocacy, Lana's Love, Miracle Network, Woodmore Elementary School, Tennessee Baptist Children's Home, and Shop with a Cop.

The club's emphasis is "One Child at a Time" and the club has given as more or more than any other civic club in the Chattanooga area, said officials.

The East Brainerd Kiwanis meets every Friday at the Holiday Inn Hamilton Place off Shallowford Road.  For more information call 698-5457.
