Raymond Carl Johnson, 88, of Chattanooga, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2017. 

He was the son of the late Malcolm App and Edna Collins Johnson.  Carl was a 20-year member of Brainerd Baptist Church.  He retired as postmaster in Montgomery, Alabama.  He has lived in Chattanooga for the last 20 years and was an avid golfer and loved gardening.

He was also preceded in death by his wives Getha Martin Johnson and Annice Harris Johnson, brothers S. Gee Johnson, Clayton Johnson, sisters Cora Engalhart, Prudy Crump, Anna Mae Skipper.

He is survived by his sons, Raymond (Janice) Johnson, Larry (Dee Dee) Johnson, Clayton (Melissa) Johnson, brother Collins “Bud” Johnson, grandchildren Alexis Johnson, Sarah Johnson Amy Logan, Sarah Morgan, Nevel Johnson, 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. on Monday, July 24, in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Steve Rowland officiating.  Interment will follow the service at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.  Family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
