MOBILE, Ala. -- Nick Gordon scored on a wild pitch in the first inning, leading the Chattanooga Lookouts to a 4-1 win over the Mobile BayBears on Thursday.
Gordon scored on the play in the first to give the Lookouts a 1-0 lead after he led off the inning with a single, stole second and then went to third on a groundout.
With the score tied 1-1 in the second, the Lookouts took the lead for good when Ryan Walker hit a solo home run.
The Lookouts won by three runs despite being out hit, 6-to-3.
Chattanooga right-hander Kohl Stewart (4-4) picked up the win after allowing one run on just one hit over five innings.
He walked four and struck out three. Of his 70 pitches, only 36 were strikes.
Randy Rosario came on and threw two scoreless innings. He gave up three hits. Paul Clemens gave up just one hit in a scoreless eighth inning. Luke Bard recorded his fifth save with a scoreless ninth inning.
Mobile starter Jake Jewell (5-7) took the loss in the Southern League game after he allowed four runs on just three hits over 4 2/3 innings.
Bard got Sherman Johnson to hit into a double play with runners on second and third to end the game for his fifth save of the season.
Chattanooga improved to 5-2 against Mobile this season.
