Iva Mahan
Iva J. Mahan, 68, of Ascalon, Ga., passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 after a brief illness.
She was a lifelong resident of North Georgia and was a member of Lookout Missionary Baptist Church. Iva retired from TVA in 2011 after more than 20 years and was a loving sister, aunt and friend, who will be greatly missed.
Iva was preceded in death by her parents, W.O. “Bill” and Dorothy “Dot” Mahan and sister, Betha Mahan.
She is survived by her sister, Kay (Luke) Hentz; brothers, Terry Mahan and Ray Mahan; uncle, Henry Collins; aunt, June Gravitt; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 22, in the funeral home chapel, with Reverend Charles McElhaney and Reverend Alvin Cummings officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4-8:30 p.m. on Friday and prior to the service on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to St. Jude’s Hospital, www.stjude.org.
