Bing, Shirley Sue (LaFayette)
Shirley Sue Bing, 79, of LaFayette, Georgia, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2017.
She was a member of Harbor Lights Baptist Church. Mrs. Bing was co-owner of Shirley’s Truck Stop for 51 years.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, James E. Bing; her parents, Wilmer and Nettie Wallin Frye; sister, Mary Nell and brother-in-law, Henry E. Marks; brother, Bill and sister-in-law, Jewelene Frye and grandsons, Kenneth Shane Lowery and Kenneth Brown.
Survivors include daughters, Kathy Landin of Orlando, Fla., Darlene Pendergrass (Jeff Thomas) of LaFayette, Annette Bing of Summerville, Debbie (Tommy) Lowery of Rome, Melissa (Phillip) McCollum of Rome, and Kristy D. Schilling of LaFayette; sons, Lamar Davis of Rock Spring and Michael D. Bing (Paula Cowen) of LaFayette; 17 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25, in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jim Powell officiating. Interment will follow in LaFayette Memory Gardens. Pallbearers are Barry DeBoard, Marshall Kellett, Chad Jackson, Jason Dilbeck, Joey Carr, and Jeff Marks. Honorary pallbearer is Jim Rook.
Visitation will be from 5–9 p.m. on Monday, July 24, at the funeral home.
