Edna Rogers passed away peacefully on July 23, 2017, in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Mrs. Rogers was a member of the Red Bank Church of Christ for over 67 years where she taught children’s Bible classes for many years. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Loomis Holland Woodward and Alta Mae Condra Woodward, husband, F. Howard Rogers, and sisters, Ellen Elizabeth Tharpe, Cecile Louise McHarge, and Dorris June Wallace.

Edna was born in South Pittsburg, graduated from Whitwell High School and then married her best friend Howard.  She followed Howard the soldier wherever he was stationed in the United States.  After he returned from Europe, they began a family and she worked in the home until the children were all in school.  Edna served as a substitute teacher in Hamilton County schools for twelve years and was later employed by the TVA Credit Union.  She loved to travel and to spend time with her grandchildren and more recently, her great-grandchildren. 

Survivors include children, Ronald H. (Gail) Rogers, Dr. Richard A. (Vikki) Rogers, and Deborah L. (Brendan) O’Hara; grandchildren Alexander H. (Carla) Rogers, Jennifer P. (Alan) Campbell, Rebekah L. (Daniel) Griffith, Amanda K. (Ryan) Alldaffer, Benjamin H. Rogers, Kathryn O. (Ike) Goldsmith, Devin M. O’Hara, Logan D. O’Hara; great-grandchildren Gareth Gray Campbell, Noelle Page Campbell, Evan Joseph Griffith, Emilia Lynn Griffith, and Elliana Grace Alldaffer.

Funeral services will be held in the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 26, at 11 a.m. with ministers Steve Lusk and Tommy Stone officiating.  Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Visitation with the family will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 26, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Red Bank Church of Christ mission fund.

Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
