Surrounded by loved ones, Cindy Lavonne Williams, age 48, of Cohutta, departed this life in the faith of Christ on Friday, July 20, 2017 from complications of a cerebrovascular accident and pneumonia.
A lifetime member of the Church of God of the Union Assembly and an employee of the University of Tennessee, Ms. Williams dedicated her life to her faith, her family, the support of education, and the advocacy of domestic violence victims.
Ms. Williams was the eldest daughter of the late Jerry Williams and Gail Williams, 66, of Cohutta. In addition to her mother, her son Morgan, 15, and her daughter Sierra, 23, Ms. Williams is survived by her sister, Alicia, and brother-in-law Jody Newton of Chatsworth; sister, Tracey Lopez and brother-in-law Andy Lopez of Cohutta; sister, Connie Glenn of Dalto; sister, Tammy Ford of Spring, Texas; sister, Karen Austin and brother-in-law Chris Austin of Tomball, Texas; brother, James Williams and sister-in-law Vicki Williams of Katy Texas; brother, Paul Williams and sister-in-law Susan Williams of Salt Lake City, Utah; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
The family will receive visitors at Ponders Funeral Home from 1-4 p.m. and on Sunday, July 23, prior to a 3 p.m. graveside service officiated by the Rev. Stoney Kiser at Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Cemetery on Monday, July 24.
