Charles Thurman
Charles "Charlie" Willard Thurman, 96, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 24, 2017.
Mr. Thurman was a World War II veteran and worked in Maps and Surveys at TVA for over 40 years. He loved camping, gardening, woodworking, and spending time with his family. Mr. Thurman was a long time member of Brainerd Hills Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 66 years, Dorothy Thurman; children, Sandy Collins (Benny) and Brenda Sheeley (Larry); grandchildren, Karen Atkins, Shelley James (Steve), Joy Marie Willson, Lawrence Sheeley (Betsy) and Sydney Sheeley; six great grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 28, in the funeral home chapel wit Dr. Richard Mason officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens with military honors.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 27, and from 10:30 a.m. until service time on Friday, July 28, at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road.
