U.S. Navy Veteran Was Truck Driver For Siskin Steel For Many Years

William Edward Blevins, Sr., 84, of Rossville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 23, 2017.

He had lived in the Chattanooga and North Georgia areas for most of his life and was of the Baptist faith. He was a retired United States Navy veteran after 21 years of service and was a truck driver for Siskin Steel for more than 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Fate and Myrtle Blevins; one daughter, Theresa Payne; three granddaughters, Patricia Taylor, Katrina Blevins and Stephane Phipps; two brothers, James and Thomas Blevins.

Survivors include his loving wife, Hazel McKeel Blevins of Rossville; children, Billy (Sheri) Blevins of Snellville, GA, Eddie (Kim) Blevins of LaFayette, William Edward Blevins, Jr. of Rossville, Darrell (Rhonda) Blevins of Rossville, Alecia (Wesley) Phipps of Charlotte, N.C., Gene (Linda) McKeel of Lookout Valley; brother, Charles Blevins of Red Bank; sister, Nancy (Lavon) Reeves of Palmer, Tn.; 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26, in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Brother Danny Edwards officiating. Interment will follow with full military honors.
