Gladys Rodman
Gladys Elaine MacKinnon Staples Rodman, 91, of Ringgold, Georgia, passed away Monday July 24, 2017 at her residence.
A native of Quincy, Ma., she has lived in the Ringgold area for the past 38 years and was a member of Brainerd Hills Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph Staples; second husband, Lloyd Rodman; parents, John and Elizabeth MacKinnon; son, Ralph “Rusty” Staples; brother, Robert MacKinnon; and sister, Marcia Middleton.
She is survived by five children, Dan (Debbie) Staples of Dennis, MA, Judy (Marty) Griswold of Chattanooga, Mary (Mark) Yates of Chattanooga, Cindi (John) Caroland of Ringgold, and Beverly (David) Forester of Ringgold; five step children, Doris (Toney) Hicks of Chattanooga, Midge Spencer, Evelyn Matthews, Wilma (Charles) Trainor, and Lyle (Pam) Rodman all of Illinois; brother, Jack (Ann) MacKinnon of Quincy, MA.; 20 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, numerous step grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Brainerd Hills Baptist Church with Dr. Richard Mason officiating. Elaine will lie in state at the church from 12-1 p.m. on Thursday at the church. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens-South.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritan's Purse.
