Elizabeth Ellen Talley, 84, of Spring City, died on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Alexian Village in Signal Mountain.

She was born on Dec. 26, 1932, in Anderson, In., to the late Alfred Elbert and Mary Margaret (Maker) Pike. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Merrill Talley.

Elizabeth was a resident of Signal Mountain for the past three years, living previously in Spring City for many years. She was a junior high art teacher in Noblesville, IN for 30 years. She earned her Bachelor of Arts at Ball State University and her Masters at Butler University. 

She is survived by her four children, Ann (Skip Steagall) Gates of Dayton, Patricia (Jay) Powell of Rosemont, MN, David Talley of Cleveland and Benjamin (Debra) Talley of Jacksonville, FL, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. 

There will be a memorial gathering for Ellen on Saturday, August 12, at noon at the Screen Door Café in Dayton.

The family asks that any memorial contributions be made to the Spring City Library.
