Joseph Allen Young, 40, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 in a Chattanooga health care facility.

 

Allen was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Young. 
 
Allen was a very active member of the Parkway Baptist Church where he volunteered as the “fix it” guy. He was a 20-year employee of Whirlpool as a tool and die maker. He was a baseball coach, and loved to fish and hunt where he got to spend time with the pride and joy of his life his sons, Jacob and Will.
 
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Tonya Young; his sons, Jacob and Will Young, all of Cleveland; his father and stepmother, Joe and Mary Jane Young of Cleveland, his brother, Darren Keith Young, his sister, Julia Christeena Porter, both of Cleveland, and several nieces and nephews. 
 
A Remembrance of life Service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services - Wildwood Avenue Chapel, with Pastor Joe White officiating.
 
The interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
 
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 28, from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
