Covenant Cross Country Schedule Includes Disney Classic

The Covenant cross country teams will compete in five regular season meets, including the annual Disney Classic, along with the USA South Championships and the NCAA Regional meet as the programs unveiled the 2017 schedule.

For the first time in six years, the teams will not host a home meet as the Scots head to Berry and the Georgia NCAA DIII Invitational on Friday, Sept.

. The meet will include Division III members in the state of Georgia.

Two weeks later, Covenant will travel to NCAA Division II member Montevallo for the Falcon Classic on Sept. 16. On Sept. 30, the teams head to Maryville to compete in the Maryville College Invitational. It will be the ninth straight year that Covenant has competed in Maryville's meet and the teams have fared well in the event with a pair of runner-up finishes last year and two team titles in 2015.

In October, the teams will compete in the 22nd annual Disney Cross Country Classic in Orlando, Fla. The annual meet takes place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and regularly features Division I, II and III teams. It will be Covenant's first appearance in the event.

The final regular season meet is set for Oct. 14 at the Berry Invitational. It will be the seventh straight year Covenant has competed in the Berry Invitational. The women placed eighth last season, while the men were 13th.

The USA South Championships will once again be held in Tallulah Falls, Ga., with Piedmont serving as the host institution on Oct. 28Two weeks later, the NCAA South/Southeast Region meet will be held at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Va.
