Sarah Elizabeth “Lib” Smith, 92, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017, at a local hospital after a long battle with health issues.

She was the daughter of the late Charles and Grace Miller and was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Alexander Smith, infant son, Charles Smith and sister, Virginia Morgan.

Lib was of the Methodist faith. She was a member of the Chattanooga Women’s Bowling Association for many years. She was also a member of the Battlefield Golf and Country Club and former Red Hatter. She was an avid shopper all over the Chattanooga area.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Pat Smith, sister, Evelyn Wolff, nieces, Phyllis Adgent, Teresa Sheridan, Cindy Gerald and nephew, Charles Wolff.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m.Tuesday, July 11, 2017 in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with J. Pat Williams officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.,Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at the funeral home.
