Tennessee American Water will be installing water lines to provide irrigation to the Rossville Duck Pond in conjunction with the Rossville ReDev Workshop revitalization project.
ReDev Workshop is a program in Rossville managed by a group of volunteers who are working closely with the city to spur revitalization in the community. The Duck Pond or “John Ross Commons” as it will be re-branded – is a gathering place for many generations of Rossvillians, and is the first major project identified by the city and ReDev Workshop.
“Water is essential to life and the sustainability of this project,” said Elizabeth Wells of ReDev Workshop. “We have donors who are generously giving sod, plants and trees for the renovation of the Rossville Duck Pond, but we need water before we could begin planting. Tennessee American Water will be installing an irrigation system throughout the park that will allow the city of Rossville to maintain the landscaping.”
“Tennessee American Water is happy to assist Rossville,” said Tennessee American Water Superintendent of Operations Casey Allen. “Rossville residents take pride in their community and we want their project to be a success. This is a great example of volunteers, public officials and private businesses coming together for the good of their neighbors.”
There will be a groundbreaking (weather permitting) at the Duck Pond with Rossville City officials, Rossville ReDevelop volunteers and Tennessee American Water on Friday at 10 a.m.
