Doris Starnes
Doris Martin Starnes, 90, was called home by her Lord on Tuesday, August 15, 2017, surrounded by her family in the home of her daughter.
Doris was born July 27, 1927, near Trion, Ga. She was the second of three children born to Enos Elijah and Sadie Lucille Martin.
In addition to her parents, brother, James Martin, and sister, Kathryn Hutchins, Doris was preceded in death by her sweet husband Louie, to whom she was married for 67 years before his death in 2014.
Doris is survived by her daughter Carol (Bobby) Higdon of Hixson; son, Randy (Becky) Starnes of Bloomington, Il.; granddaughter, Dr. Sarah Starnes of St.Louis; grandson, Jared (Gretchen) Starnes of Wylie, TX, and several nieces and nephews.
A heartfelt thanks to Doris' special friend and caretaker, Marcina Griffith. Also special thanks for the wonderful care provided by Hospice of Chattanooga.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 18, at the funeral home.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 19, at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery on Monday, Aug. 21, at 10:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga.
